I know the exact moment I made the shift from my hand held camera to snapping pics with my phone. All of the cute baby shots of chubby cheeks and first birthday cakes were suddenly gone from my photo wall (check out the photo wall I made). One day I looked up to find my “baby” was now three years old and all of our photos were outdated.
I can’t remember the last time I sent a roll of film in to be processed.
Instead of photo albums, I have external hard drives, Flickr accounts and folders on my desktop. Every so often, I’ll get the wistful feeling that I wish I could print and hang my photos, especially the ones I take on Instagram. My Instagram feed is where I can typically be found everyday, over-sharing my daily life.
I was recently introduced to Instagic, a monthly subscription that magically finds ten of your best Instagram photos of the month, prints them and then mails them to you. The prints come sandwiched in a thick cardstock, 4 x 4 inches on Kodak paper directly to your mailbox for $9.99 a month. Once you sign up, all you have to do is wait for your pictures to show up. That’s what I did.
I’d completely forgotten about Instagic until a square envelope showed up on my desk one morning. I opened it up to find a small stack of photos, featuring some of the shenanigans from the previous month: abstract paintings, our trip to Mickey’s Halloween Party at Disneyland, my day at Nestlé to celebrate Dia de los Muertos and an evening at the park with my kids.
The photo of my husband’s hand painting was probably my favorite of the batch.
Instagic will make you think twice about that selfie. What about those people whose entire Instagram feed is comprised of their bathroom selfies?
Loving the photos of my girlfriends and fellow Latina Blogstars.
I really enjoyed the spontaneity of it. I knew the photos were coming but it was still nice to receive mail unexpectedly. I liked looking through the photos and reminiscing about the previous month. I also really liked the fact that I didn’t have to deal with the hassle of getting my photos. They came in a classy matte finish that enhanced the filters and they’re ready to be hung up.
How to get your own Instagic account:
- Head to their website and link your Instagram account with an Instagic account.
- Add your billing and shipping information.
- That’s it! Wait for your photos to show up.
Would you like to try Instagic? Here is your chance! Leave a comment and tell us if you ever print your Instagram photos, then Like Instagic on Facebook. Next Friday, one winner will be chosen to receive a free month’s subscription to Instagic.
Good luck!

Disclosure: This isn’t a sponsored post but I was given a free subscription to Instagic for the month and I wanted to share it with my readers. As always, this is my 100% true and honest opinion.
